About the Role Working hours will be 7am -3pm
The Lead Custodian is responsible for maintaining and cleaning facilities and grounds and coordinating workload of custodians. Maintains supply inventory and contracts necessary outside vendors for janitorial needs.
Provides custodial and minor buildings maintenance services including but not limited to restroom service, floor finishing, dusting, and refuse disposal.
Coordinates workload of custodians and assign special projects
Coordinates outside cleaning services as necessary
Tracks and orders custodial and buildings supplies
Uses cleaning tools and other products to create a clean, healthy work environment.
Removes and disposes of trash, recycling, and other waste.
Assists with clearing snow when necessary.
Additional project as assigned by supervisor.
Lead Responsibilities:
Leads by setting a good example (role model) – behavior consistent with words.
Assigns work to team members as needed.
Trains and develops team members; help resolve dysfunctional behavior.
Facilitates problem solving and collaboration.
Strives for team consensus and win-win agreements.
Intervenes when necessary to aid the group in resolving issues.
Assures that the team member’s issues are resolved quickly to avoid delays or missing goals.
Recognizes team member accomplishments and exceptional performance.
Communicates discipline and performance feedback as needed.
Communicates all department production flow and workload concerns to the manager to ensure the completion of all daily orders.
Ensures all employees in the department are wearing all required PPE during shift.
What You Need:
High School diploma is required.
2 or more years of experience in housekeeping or janitorial field preferred.
Must maintain a valid Wisconsin driver’s license and a means of transportation for commuting between facilities.
Knowledge of proper cleaning practices for commercial spaces.
Maintain confidentiality from potential exposure to sensitive information.
Good communication skills and self-motivated to work on a shift with no direct supervision.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a can-do attitude.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
Ability to use Microsoft Outlook.
