Job description

POSITION TITLE: LEAD CUSTODIAN

Location: San Antonio, TX.

FLSA: Non-Exempt.

Hire Pay: $ 15.00.

Classification: Part-Time
Days: Monday through Friday
Hours: 4:00am - 9:00am

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The custodian will do daily final cleaning inside of buildings as instructed. Work will consist of mopping, sweeping, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning, window washing (inside only), and cleaning office furniture and lighting fixtures.

JOB SUMMARY:

  1. Dust.
  2. Mops Floors.
  3. Vacuum Carpets.
  4. Cleans Restrooms and restocks paper and soap supplies.
  5. Empties trash receptacles and bags of trash for proper disposal.
  6. Locks doors after cleaning areas.
  7. Leads, guides, and/or trains custodians in applicable procedures and techniques.
  8. Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
  9. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  10. Monday-Friday must be available on Saturdays.
  11. Receives daily work orders.
  12. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Knowledge of custodial practices, machinery, and related equipment.
  2. Ability to understand verbal instructions.
  3. Ability to operate vacuums and other related equipment.
  4. Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
  5. Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and supplies.
  6. Ability to lead and train.
  7. Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects.
  8. Ability to understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
  9. Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
  10. Ability to understand written and verbal communications.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:

  1. Receives supervision from the building representative.
  2. The position has formally assigned supervisory responsibility and authority.
  3. Must complete jobs without constant supervision.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  1. The principal duties of this position are performed in an indoor and/or outdoor environment.
  2. Works standing and walking for prolonged periods of time.
  3. Steps, stoops, crawls, climbs, lifts, bends, kneels, pulls, and pushes while performing job duties such as heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing or pulling required of objects up to 55 pounds.
  4. Physical work is a primary part of the job.
  5. The work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
  6. Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, cleaning chemicals, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.

ALCOHOL AND DRUG TESTING POLICY:

  1. This position is subject to pre-employment drug testing.
  2. DLP Staffing has a Drug Free Workplace Policy which includes Post-Accident Testing, Random Testing, and/or Reasonable Suspicion Testing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Must pass a background check.
  2. Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
  3. Other: Valid Drivers’ License Class C.
