Job RequirementsPOSITION SUMMARY
The Lead CT Technologist operates Computerized Tomography (CT) equipment to produce quality images of the body for diagnostic purposes following all Health First policies and procedures. The Lead CT Technologist mentors the CT team, ensuring continuous technical and professional development, while working under the delegating authority of the department leadership team.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Leads the work of others by prioritizing and delegating the daily workload, while handling patients, Associates, and equipment issues as they arise.
- Addresses situations promptly while maintaining departmental standards.
- Maintains a safe environment during CT procedures, adhering to policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Properly screens patients for CT scans, documents, and communicates pertinent information before and after procedures.
- Positions patients for scans using immobilization and protective equipment in compliance with safety protocols.
- Produces images that meet quality standards and evaluates scans for technical quality.
- Identifies, prepares, and administers medications within scope as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
- Monitors patients during procedures, observing for adverse reactions and taking appropriate action.
- Adapts to workflow changes and organizational needs based on patient volume fluctuations.
- Communicates effectively with patients, colleagues, and the public, demonstrating excellent customer service skills.
- Follows all relevant healthcare regulations and standards, including The Joint Commission and ACR.
- Provides orientation and education for new Technologists and assists Radiologists with protocol development and imaging techniques.
Work Experience
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Graduate of an ARRT or JRCNMT accredited program or school.
- Work Experience: None required.
- Licensure: General Radiographer licensure in Florida.
- Certification: ARRT (R), ARRT (N), NMTCB, or ARRT (CT) within two years, and BLS certification.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Effective time management, critical thinking, and scheduling skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under stress and respond to emergencies.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior CT experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Requires physical agility, including walking, standing, lifting (up to 100 lbs), and working in confined spaces.
- May involve exposure to extreme temperatures, biohazards, noise, and vibration.
- Requires good visual acuity and hand-eye coordination.
- May require travel between facilities and use of personal transportation.
