Job summary

UAB Medicine seeks a lead CRNA to coordinate anesthesia services under physician direction. The role involves providing expert patient care, participating in clinical instruction, and acting as a clinical resource across multiple surgical services at UAB St. Vincent’s facilities.

The team of anesthesiologists and CRNAs supports 50,000+ procedures yearly in a multi-specialty setting, with opportunities for teaching, leadership, and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Nurse Anesthesia Program and two years of related experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating anesthesia treatments.
• Evaluates patients preoperatively to assess status and anesthetic risks.
• Administers medically directed anesthetics for surgical, obstetric, therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.
• Responds to critical patient care needs related to invasive monitoring and airway management.
• Leads daily operations and mentors allied health personnel; ensures staffing coverage and efficiency.
