Job summary

Huntsville Hospital is seeking a Critical Care Paramedic to provide leadership in the field, assess high-acuity patients, and deliver advanced emergency care. The role emphasizes safe patient transport, documentation, and advocacy, with mentoring responsibilities for other Paramedics/EMTs.

The position requires Alabama licensure as a CCP, certification in ACLS/PALS/BLS, and experience in complex pre-hospital care.

Qualifications

• Current Alabama license as a Critical Care Paramedic.
• FPC/CCP‑C, ACLS, PALS, BLS, BTLS/PHTLS.
• 3 years as a licensed Paramedic; 1 year as primary care provider in pre-hospital environment.

• Exceptional patient assessment skills.
• Exceptional airway management skills and knowledge.
• Ability to provide care to high acuity patients.
• Ability to provide ventilator management.
• Ability to manage various IV pumps.
• Ability to manage the administration of multiple medications and blood products simultaneously.
• Knowledge of various medications associated with emergency and/or critical care.
• Must be approved by the EMS Medical Director through continued evaluation.
