Job summary

Trumbull-Brayman Joint Venture is seeking an experienced Union Operating Mechanic-Cranes for the Montgomery Lock & Dam Project in Monaca, PA. Join a union team on a long-term federal project, with a competitive starting wage and comprehensive benefits.

The role focuses on crane installation, maintenance, and repair across the project site, with 40-hour weeks and overtime as needed. Strong preference for union experience and apprenticeship training.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of crane/hoist experience, preferably in construction or industrial environments.
• Experience installing and maintaining cranes of all types, preferred tower cranes.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and heavy equipment components related to cranes/hoists.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic system failures.
• Ability to safely operate diagnostic tools, hand tools, and repair equipment.
• Commitment to maintaining safe work practices.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical training in crane repair or heavy equipment maintenance preferred.
• Completion of a Union apprenticeship program or equivalent training preferred.
• Recent and verifiable work history required.

Responsibilities

• Assembly and erection of Tower Cranes at the project construction site.
• Inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing cranes on the project.
• Performing preventative maintenance on crane/hoisting equipment including tower, hydraulic, rough-terrain and lattice boom cranes.
• Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical system issues.
• Coordinating maintenance schedules to minimize equipment downtimeMaintaining maintenance records and equipment service documentation
• Ensuring all equipment is maintained in compliance with company and USACE safety standards
• Supervising and assisting service technicians as needed
• Coordinating with project supervision regarding equipment needs and repairs
• Supporting field operations by responding to equipment breakdowns and emergency repairs
• Maintaining safe and organized work areas
