Job summary

Gfoat is seeking a Court Services Supervisor to oversee scanning, indexing and processing within the Municipal Court system in Garland, Texas. You will supervise a team of 4 Court Services Assistants and ensure accurate financial handling and case processing.

Responsibilities include scheduling, staff training, reviewing legal documents, maintaining calendars and assisting with warrants and court records. Strong IT skills and knowledge of court operations are essential.

Qualifications

  • 6 months to 1-year advanced training past the high school level.
  • 4 years related Court / law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare schedule of assignments in order to maintain adequate coverage.
  • Train staff on Court rules, legislative updates, policies and procedures; assign and oversee subordinates daily work tasks.
  • Verify balance sheets for each clerk when a cash drawer is closed, as well as deposits and payments for court, warrant unit and jail for accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain the daily citation reconciliation report for management.
  • Scan court documents into electronic format for ongoing judicial transference and processing of information (Open
  • Records request, research, management reports and etc).
  • Oversee, assist and resolve public inquiries/problems encountered by staff related to the Municipal Court operations.
  • May assist with obtaining, processing and reviewing legal documents for all judicial departments for completeness, timeliness and conformity to legal requirements.
  • May supervise the preparation and updates of the court calendars and assist with the reviewing of case files for completeness and further processing requirements prior to and after court proceedings.
  • May research, prepare and process cases for warrants (Alias, Bench and Capias) and issue writs, warrants and other official court documents and correspondents as needed by the Municipal Court.
  • Ensure daily workloads are completed each day or reallocate staff to finish all day tasks.
  • Participate in IT system updates related to Court processing.

Job description

Summary

Responsible for supervising the scanning, indexing and processing of citations and other judicial paperwork through the Municipal justice system’s Mail/Bond, Dockets, Data Entry/Warrants, Online Services and Window/Phone units.

Pay Range

$17.03 - 21.80 (Depending on qualifications and experience)

Minimum Qualifications
  • 6 months to 1-year advanced training past the high school level
  • 4 years related Court / law enforcement experience

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Preferred Qualifications

Education/ Experience:

  • Associate’s degree in IT Systems, Computer Systems, Public Administration, Law Enforcement or related area of study
  • 4-6 years’ experience in a Municipal Court environment, Law enforcement office or government customer service position
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Comprehensive knowledge of cash handling and payment processing procedures
  • Comprehensive knowledge of court and legal operations
  • Comprehensive knowledge of electronic filing and indexing
  • Excellent communication skills in both oral and written correspondence
  • Skill at accurately scanning documents and indexing
  • Skill in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access)
  • Skill in leading a team of employees
Licenses and Certifications

Valid Class C Texas driver's license
