Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Lead Courier to join our Seattle team at 500 17th Ave, Seattle, WA 98122. The role involves acting as a floater to cover routes, training new couriers, and assisting with dispatch and pickups while maintaining safety and efficiency.

Schedule is Monday to Friday, 10:00am-6:30pm, with potential overtime. Pay ranges from $21.57 to $28.40 per hour plus Lead Incentive Pay, and benefits are offered per the collective bargaining agreement.

Qualifications

• No Experience or Education Required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 6 months or more previous driver/courier experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as a floater for the logistics team providing coverage for various routes.
• Provide on-route training for new couriers/drivers.
• Assist with dispatch and pickups when needed.
• Load all necessary supplies for daily pickups.
• Complete daily pickup schedule and deliver to branch.
• Handle all specimens and lab samples safely.
• Safely operate company vehicle and follow traffic laws.
• Use handheld device to manage pickups.
• Collaborate with dispatcher for additional pickups as needed.
• Evaluate traffic patterns, routes and weather conditions.

Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday, 10:00am-6:30pm, with expectation to work an shift as needed 24/7, with proper advance notification.

Job Responsibilities

• Act as a floater for the logistics team providing as needed coverage for various routes
• Provide on route training for new couriers/drivers
• Assist with dispatch and pickups when needed
• Load all necessary suppliers needed for the daily pickups
• Complete daily pick up schedule in a timely manner
• Deliver all daily picks to your branch at the end of your shift
• Handle all specimens and lab samples in safe and efficient manner
• Safely operate company vehicle and obey all traffic laws
• Utilize handheld electronic device to manage daily picks up
• Work directly with dispatcher for additional pick-ups as needed
• Evaluate traffic patterns, alternative routes and weather conditions as needed

Minimum Qualifications

• No Experience or Education Required

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 6 months or more previous driver/courier experience

Additional Job Standards

• Valid Driver's License and clean driving record
• Be at least 21 years of age
• Very punctual with strong time management skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to problem solve customer issues
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed

• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal

Pay Range:

$21.57 to $28.40 per hour plus Lead Incentive Pay

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience and the terms of the collective bargaining agreement between Dynacare Northwest, Inc. and United Food and Commercial Workers Union, Local 21.

Benefits:

• Regular, full-time or part-time employees working 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), accrue up to 18 days of Annual Leave per year (includes 8 holidays) and Sick Leave (0.0333) hours of sick leave for each hour of work) capped at 64 hours per year, Tuition Reimbursement and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
