Job summary

Labcorp is hiring a Casual/Per Diem courier responsible for loading, transporting, and delivering medical specimens and lab supplies. You will work with daily pickup schedules, ensure safe handling, and communicate with dispatch to optimize routes.

A valid license and reliable vehicle are required; prior Labcorp experience is a plus. Excellent time management and attention to detail are essential, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Preferred Labcorp experience.
• 2+ years courier or route-based delivery in medical/lab company.
• 1+ years handling medical specimens or supporting hospital/laboratory ops.
• 2+ years using handheld delivery devices or routing tools.

Responsibilities

• Load all necessary suppliers for daily pickups.
• Complete daily pickup schedule promptly.
• Deliver daily picks to the branch at shift end.
• Handle specimens and lab samples safely.
• Operate a company vehicle and follow traffic laws.
• Use handheld device to manage pickups.
• Coordinate with dispatcher for additional pickups as needed.
• Assess traffic, routes, and weather for efficiency.

Work Schedule

This is a Casual/Per Diem position; hours will be "as needed" and the start and end times will vary.

Job Responsibilities

• Load all necessary suppliers needed for the daily pickups
• Complete daily pick-up schedule in a timely manner
• Deliver all daily picks to your branch at the end of your shift
• Handle all specimens and lab samples in a safe and efficient manner
• Safely operate a company vehicle and obey all traffic laws
• Utilize handheld electronic device to manage daily picks up
• Work directly with the dispatcher for additional pick-ups as needed
• Evaluate traffic patterns, alternative routes, and weather conditions as needed

Minimum Qualifications

• No education or experience required

Preferred Qualifications

• Current or Prior Labcorp experience
• 2 or more years of professional courier or route‑based delivery experience within a medical or laboratory company.
• 1 or more years of experience handling medical specimens or supporting hospital / laboratory operations
• 2 or more years of experience using handheld delivery‑management devices or route optimization tools, such as scanners, GPS‑based routing software, or dispatch applications

Additional Job Standards

• Very punctual with strong time management skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to problem solve customer issues
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
• Be at least 21 years’ old

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.

In this position, you will be responsible for the pickup, transport, and delivery of medical specimens, lab supplies, and reports, while providing excellent service to our clients.

Pay Range: $18.29-$24.00

Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.

Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
