Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory is seeking an Alcohol & Drug Lead Counselor for the Anaheim ARC to supervise intake, counseling, curriculum and intern programs while maintaining progress notes and program metrics.

Requirements include CADC Level I or higher, at least 1 year of rehab teaching experience, and a valid driver’s license; 21+ and strong organizational skills are essential. The role offers full-time hours, benefits, and a faith-based mission alignment.

Qualifications

• Certified Alcohol Drug Counselor (CADC) Level I certified or higher.
• 1 year of experience teaching or presenting material pertaining to Rehabilitation from addiction.
• Valid Driver's License and Clean MVR.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Access) and ability to learn additional software.
• Age 21 or above.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to make critical decisions and work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to track multiple tasks efficiently and professionally.
• Professional judgment and integrity with beneficiary, family and coworker information.
• Commitment to The Salvation Army ARC mission and philosophy.
• Active Christian worldview.
• If in recovery, 3 years of continuous sobriety.
• No evidence of existing chemical dependency.

Responsibilities

• Lead counseling program including individual and group sessions.
• Develop and implement Rehabilitation Plans for beneficiaries.
• Attend weekly Case Conference and provide input.
• Document and maintain Progress Notes and counseling statistics.
• Coordinate with ARC staff and interns; supervise interns as needed.
