Job Responsibilities

As a Counselor, under the supervision of the Lead Counselor, you will provide counseling and education to clients. You will promote a positive environment, encourage ongoing learning, and support clients' recovery efforts.

Qualifications

• Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor or Bachelor's degree with at least 1 year of relevant experience
• Experience teaching or presenting on addiction recovery
• Valid Driver’s License and clean MVR
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ability to learn new software
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to make decisions independently
• Confidentiality and integrity
• Alignment with the Salvation Army's philosophy and goals
• Active Christian worldview; if in recovery, at least 3 years sobriety; no current chemical dependency

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, twist
• Ability to lift 30 lbs.
• Effective communication skills
• Repetitive motion tasks
