Job Responsibilities
As a Counselor, under the supervision of the Lead Counselor, you will provide counseling and education to clients. You will promote a positive environment, encourage ongoing learning, and support clients' recovery efforts.
Qualifications
- Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor or Bachelor's degree with at least 1 year of relevant experience
- Experience teaching or presenting on addiction recovery
- Valid Driver’s License and clean MVR
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ability to learn new software
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to make decisions independently
- Confidentiality and integrity
- Alignment with the Salvation Army's philosophy and goals
- Active Christian worldview; if in recovery, at least 3 years sobriety; no current chemical dependency
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, twist
- Ability to lift 30 lbs.
- Effective communication skills
- Repetitive motion tasks
