Job summary

The Salvation Army ARC Anaheim in Anaheim, CA, seeks a dedicated Counselor to support the Adult Rehabilitation Program. You will supervise counseling, lead group sessions, and help beneficiaries develop rehabilitation plans in a faith-informed environment.

This full-time role includes coordinating program activities, maintaining records, collaborating with staff, and delivering classroom and counseling services.

Qualifications

• Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor or bachelor’s degree plus at least 1-year work/volunteer experience in the substance abuse field.
• 1-year experience teaching or presenting material pertaining to Rehabilitation from addiction.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, MSWord, Excel, and Access with ability to learn additional software.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, train, and utilize community volunteers appropriately and effectively.
• Attend weekly program meetings to assure communication and team support.
• Ensure intake operations are developed and operated with ARC standards.
• Ensure curriculum is compliant with ARC standards and teaching objectives are used.
• Provide and maintain counseling statistics for monthly Program reports.
• Develop individual Rehabilitation Plans for beneficiaries seen in counseling.
