Job summary

Venture Global LNG in Houston, TX seeks a Lead Cost Analyst to oversee project budgets, risk analytics, and cost reporting across multiple sites including Arlington, Cameron, and New Orleans. You will work with project teams to ensure safe, on-time, and cost-efficient execution.

The role requires 8+ years in large Oil & Gas projects, strong skills in forecasting, variance analysis, and SOX compliance, plus proficiency in EcoSys and Power BI. Night/weekend availability may be required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant experience in major Oil & Gas Engineering and Construction projects.
• Comprehensive understanding of transportation, inventory management, freight cost structures, and supply chain logistics.
• Experience with LNG Liquefaction or Combined Cycle Power Generation projects preferred.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks and work within project deadlines, and adjust as priority changes occur.
• Exhibit excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Have advanced computer experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, experience with EcoSys and Power BI preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to efficiently summarize and prioritize information.
• Ability to work nights and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead a Safe work culture
• Maintain and provide oversight of project budgets, conducting detailed variance analysis to track actual costs against forecasts
• Utilize predictive analytics to anticipate budget risks, logistics bottlenecks, and supplier price fluctuations
• Routinely engage with project management to review cost forecasts, change orders, value of work done (VOWD), and trends
• Oversee effective project reporting, monitoring and evaluation including regular project progress and performance reporting
• Support the mitigation of project challenges through creative and innovating problem solving
• Contribute to effective and efficient project controls oversight of projects
• Report on project status, performance, constraints and issues to Senior and Executive Management
• Auditing of freight invoices to ensure compliance with contracts
• Maintain a thorough understanding of industry standards, including import/export regulations and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance
• Other responsibilities as assigned
