Job summary

b1BANK in Lake Charles, LA, seeks a Manager for Corporate & Specialized Loan Closing to lead a high-volume unit handling large and complex commercial closings. You will supervise staff, ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance, and coordinate with internal/external counsel to drive a timely, quality closing process.

The role requires experience in complex loan products, strong leadership, and deep knowledge of LaserPro and real estate documents.

Qualifications

• Seven years of commercial loan closing/documentation experience.
• One year of supervisory or leadership experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of LaserPro.
• Strong management skills for a large team.
• Extensive knowledge of real estate documents (title, mortgages, appraisals).
• Fundamental knowledge of UCC rules and regulations.
• Fluent knowledge of complex commercial loan products (SBA 7(a/504, USDA), LC, participation/syndication).
• Strong interpersonal communication and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently while supporting others.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Corporate & Specialized Loan Closing unit, including staff supervision and workflow oversight.
• Serve as SME for corporate/specialized closings, including large/complex loans.
• Track and report production performance to leadership; optimize team performance.
• Document and review procedures to promote consistency and controls.
• Lead training, coaching, and staff development.
• Perform second-level reviews on loan packages and provide guidance.
• Review closing conditions and translate approvals into documentation; escalate issues.
• Oversee entry and tracking of closing exceptions (nCino, mortgages, UCC filings).
• Assist staff with preparing loan packages and required documents.
• Review complex documents and coordinate with counsel as needed.
• Ensure staff obtain required documentation before closing.
• Promote accuracy by reviewing renewals and correcting errors.
• Provide high-quality internal customer support and cross-department collaboration.
• Maintain scalable department infrastructure to support growth and risk control.
• Collaborate with IT and Lending Systems to document processes and fix issues.
• Support Loan Operations projects with planning and reporting.
• Ensure compliance training and regulatory requirements are met.
