Job summary

Otterbein SeniorLife is seeking a Lead Cook to join our team in a not-for-profit retirement community. The role covers the preparation, cooking and serving of food to residents, guests and partners under strict sanitary conditions.

The position is full-time (10a-6:30p) and involves coordinating with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth service. Education and experience are valued, with a High School diploma or GED preferred and 2–5 years of LTC cooking experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• 2 to 5 year’s cooking experience in LTC or similar setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reads menu to estimate food requirements and procures food.
• Prepares and cooks food in accordance with standards.
• Measures ingredients and uses kitchen equipment to prepare diverse menu items.
• Maintains sanitation and orderliness of equipment and work area.
• Coordinates with staff to prevent waste and ensure timely service.
• Follows prep sheets to prepare items for next day’s meals.
