Responsibilities
Where You'll Make an Impact:
- Prepare and cook dishes according to recipes or instructions provided.
- Train new hires and instruct staff on proper cooking techniques and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with the Sous Chef or Chef D’Cuisine to ensure overall success of the kitchen and restaurant.
- Ensure stations are prepared to meet anticipated levels of business for the day, assisting fellow staff when needed.
- Validate all stations (including Prep).
- Accomplish daily cleaning duties following sanitation guidelines.
- Handle high volume cooking and plating while maintaining consistent quality in a fast-paced environment.
- Follow safety procedures to ensure employee safety.
- Work under supervision of culinary management team.
- Promote teamwork and quality service through communication and coordination with other departments.
- Interact directly with guests occasionally.
- Adhere to appearance standards.
- Demonstrate professionalism reflecting our brand and values.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Skills To Help You Succeed
- Use all kitchen equipment and appliances.
- Read and write basic instructions; knowledge of PPE.
- Be creative with cooking and food preparation.
- Interpret production lists, menus, and banquet orders.
- Maintain accurate records.
- Follow sanitation and health regulations for safe food handling.
Qualifications
Must-Haves:
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Culinary courses or equivalent experience.
- Five+ years of experience as a line cook.
- Ability to secure and maintain required licensure.
Physical Requirements
- Stand for long periods.
- Bend, stoop, reach with up to 50 pounds.
- Work around high temperatures and cold environments.
- Move continually during a 10-hour shift.
