Job summary

Hale Kupuna Heritage Home seeks a Lead Cook to provide expertise in food preparation, production, and distribution with a focus on quality nutrition services for residents. The role requires 3 years of cooking experience, preference for healthcare experience, and a valid Hawaii driver’s license.

Duties include portion-controlled meal service, diet-specific preparations, and maintaining sanitary kitchen facilities. Benefits include PTO and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years cooking experience in food service industry or related experience.
• Experience in healthcare setting preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Current Hawaii driver's license preferred.
• Current and valid 2 Step TB clearance and health review (can be done in-house).

Responsibilities

• Produces quality foods to support the health and well-being of our guests / residents.
• Serves food in accordance with established portion control procedures; prepares food for therapeutic diets in accordance with planned menus, standardized recipes, and special diet orders.
• Ensures that kitchen facilities and equipment are maintained in good, sanitary condition to maintain food production efficiency, food safety, and conformance with OHSA safety and DOH rules and sanitation standards.
