Job summary

Aramark Correctional Services is seeking a Lead Cook to prepare meals following standardized recipes and safety guidelines. The role involves supervising staff, ensuring proper food handling, and maintaining sanitation across kitchen operations.

You will work with grills, ovens, and related equipment, while overseeing production, quality control, and timely service. The position may require flexibility to meet client needs and location-specific requirements.

Qualifications

• Previous supervisor experience preferred.
• Experience as a cook or related role required.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Proven knowledge of basic food preparation principles and sanitation.
• Food safety certification required.
• Demonstrates basic math and counting skills.
• Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and assigns daily work activities to staff and supervises tasks.
• Trains and guides staff on duties and safety procedures.
• Cooks and prepares food following production guidelines and recipes.
• Sets up workstation with ingredients and equipment.
• Prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, chopping, trimming and peeling.
• Safely uses food utensils and operates ovens, stoves, and mixers.
• Bakes, roasts, broils, steams and uses various cooking methods.
• Assembles and portions food per guidelines and stores safely.
