Job summary

Senior Lifestyle is seeking a kitchen team member to prepare meals from standardized recipes and maintain high-quality kitchen operations on-site in Ohio. You will set up service lines, coordinate prep for the next day’s menu, train newer staff, and manage ordering and inventory while ensuring cleanliness and compliance with health codes.

The role emphasizes organization, quality presentation, and clear communication with residents and colleagues, with opportunities to contribute to menu cycles

Qualifications

• 6+ months of experience in a commercial kitchen or a related certificate/degree from a college or technical school.
• Strong organizational and communication skills with residents and coworkers.
• Pride in the quality and presentation of food prepared.
• Fluent English to perform duties and communicate with supervisors, coworkers, residents, and third parties.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals from standardized recipes in accordance with orders, promptly and attractively.
• Set up food service line and workstations with condiments and garnishes.
• Coordinate prep for the next day’s menu and assist with training new kitchen staff.
• Assist in food ordering and creating the menu cycle.
• Keep stock rooms, coolers, and freezers clean; rotate and label perishables.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and adhere to health department codes.
• Minimize food waste using proper storage and recycling practices.
• Supervise Cooks, Prep Cooks, and Utility Workers as needed.
