Job summary

Heritage Assisted Living & Memory Care in Madison, Alabama seeks a part-time skilled Cook to prepare high-quality, presentable dishes for residents. You will prepare ingredients, cook, and present meals while maintaining a clean, organized workspace and following safety standards.

Responsibilities include reviewing menus, assembling supplies, serving meals with portion control, and assisting with special diets and activities.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of three (3) years' experience in cooking.
• Minimum of three (3) years' experience in supervisory position in food preparation and service.
• Ability to supervise others and receive on-the-job training in food preparation, cooking, estimating quantities and other service duties.

Responsibilities

• Review daily menus and assemble food, supplies, and equipment for meal preparation.
• Ensure items are on site for the next day's menu and thaw frozen items per standards.
• Prepare meals for regular and therapeutic diets according to recipes.
• Assist in serving meals and portion control.
• Maintain clean, sanitary work areas and organized storage.
• Monitor dry storage and refrigerators/freezers; keep them orderly.
• Check in and store incoming food and supplies per standards.
• Verify accuracy of special diet trays.
• Report equipment and supply needs to Supervisor.
• Assist with special meals, parties, and banquets.
• Support Dietary Department functions in Supervisor's absence.
• Follow department policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Support resident comfort, privacy, and dignity in delivering services.
