Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years of food service experience or two years of leadership experience preferred.
  • Illinois Department of Public Health Sanitation Certification within 3 months of start date.

Job description

Position Highlights:

  • Position: Lead Cook
  • Hourly Pay Range: $19.31 - $28.00. The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.
  • Location: Edward Hospital - Naperville, IL
  • Full Time | 40 hours/week
  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 5am - 1:30 pm or 11am - 7:30pm with rotating weekends and holidays

What you will do:

  • This position assists the Executive Chef in overseeing the Cooks.
  • Ensures compliance with local and federal production, sanitation, and safety standards.
  • Assists in training new staff and reports any malfunctioning equipment to Facilities.
  • Functions as a Cook by preparing menu items using standardized recipes for patients, cafeteria, and catering services.

What you will need:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management/Hospitality preferred.
  • Completion of an ACF (American Culinary Federation) accredited culinary arts or hospitality management program preferred.
  • Certification: Illinois Department of Public Health Sanitation Certification within 3 months of start date.
  • Experience: Minimum of five years of food service experience or two years of leadership experience preferred.
