Job description

In our people-first kitchen, you’ll lead a team of prep and line cooks by helping them to fine-tune their culinary skills, grow their careers, and fuel their passion for food. Your leadership, culinary expertise, and attention to detail will be key in managing daily operations and contributing to profitability. No two days are the same, and an entire store full of fresh, world-class ingredients is your pantry.

Responsibilities:
  1. Assist the sous chefs in running the kitchen and overseeing the team
  2. Follow recipes, use proper knife skills, and apply cooking techniques to ensure consistency
  3. Share your knowledge and passion for food with customers by suggesting meal ideas using products from departments around the store
  4. Manage employee performance, including training, feedback, and development opportunities
Requirements:
  1. 2+ years of prep or line cook experience
  2. Experience leading a team
  3. Food safety and quality assurance knowledge
Work Environment & Additional Information:

The physical demands of this work are classified as medium. Work includes standing, walking for prolonged periods without breaks, repetitive hand and arm movements, bending, reaching, frequent lifting (5-10 pounds), and occasional heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds). The environment involves continuous interaction with customers and coworkers in a fast-paced setting, with exposure to cold temperatures (33-55°F) and hot equipment exceeding 135°F. Basic tools and equipment include cooking utensils, ovens, and stoves. Experience in a multi-faceted food service facility and leadership roles is preferred.
