Position Description
As a Lead Cook, you will oversee daily kitchen operations, follow established production schedules, and perform duties to maximize guest satisfaction and maintain a quality work environment as directed by the Manager on Duty.
Responsibilities:
- Report to work well-groomed, in a clean uniform, practicing good personal hygiene at all times.
- Maintain food and equipment inventories.
- Use, maintain, and clean all kitchen equipment, preparation, and storage areas.
- Stock and rotate products on the cooking line.
- Have sufficient knowledge of cooking stations, menu items, and prep procedures to ensure correct portioning, quality, and performance standards.
- Cook and prepare menu items according to guest requests, standards, and food safety procedures.
- Monitor food temperatures during handling to reduce risk factors for foodborne illness and ensure food safety regulations are followed.
- Identify and correct system breakdowns to achieve maximum guest satisfaction.
- Communicate effectively with the Manager on Duty and coworkers regarding product/service issues, equipment, and safety concerns.
Qualifications:
- Basic skills such as sanitation, safety, and customer service, taught through in-house training.
- Ability to communicate clearly.
- Ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
Physical Requirements / Environment / Work Conditions:
- High level of mobility and flexibility.
- Ability to work irregular hours under stress during peak times.
- High level of coordination.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds for distances up to 30 feet.
- Ability to fit through a 30” wide opening.
- Frequent reaching, bending, pushing, and pulling.
- Exposure to heat, steam, smoke, cold, and odors.
- Continual standing and walking.
