Job summary

International Paper in Lexington, KY is seeking a Converting Supervisor to lead a third-shift crew of hourly employees. This salaried role focuses on safety, quality, productivity, and engagement to meet goals.

You will monitor schedules, machine performance, and downtime; provide coaching and training; and collaborate with maintenance and quality teams to ensure a reliable, high-quality output. A strong leader with communication skills is essential.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
Prior experience in the corrugated packaging industry preferred.
Two years of supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Direct supervisor to one assigned shift of hourly employees, providing leadership in safety, quality, and productivity.
Promote and monitor workplace safety practices, including lockout/tagout and housekeeping.
Monitor production schedules, machine performance, downtime, speed, and waste.
Lead operational troubleshooting efforts.
Provide direction, coaching, training, and support to production employees.
Set clear expectations, give performance feedback, and maintain accountability.
Monitor product quality indicators such as board appearance and moisture.
Collaborate with quality and maintenance teams to resolve quality concerns.
Partner with maintenance to support equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
Maintain accurate production, downtime, waste, and labor records.
Lead by example to ensure a safe, efficient, high-quality workplace.
Communicate operational information clearly at all levels.
Promote compliance with safety, quality, and other programs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
