Job summary

Georgia-Pacific Corp. is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to support the Port Hudson Paper Mill in Zachary, Louisiana.

The role focuses on tissue/paper converting and asset performance, driving reliability and process improvements across the converting operations. You will lead continuous improvement initiatives, collaborate with operations, maintenance and planning teams, and mentor operators to enhance safety, quality, and production efficiency while leveraging data analytics to

Qualifications

Experience in tissue/paper/towel converting and related manufacturing environments.
Experience owning, troubleshooting, optimizing, and improving equipment and processes.
Experience leading continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.
Experience partnering with operations and maintenance to improve equipment reliability.
Experience training, coaching, and developing others.

Responsibilities

Lead asset performance and long-term strategy for converting assets to improve safety, quality and cost.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to production teams on equipment and processes.
Collaborate with operations, maintenance, planning and purchasing to identify vulnerabilities and implement improvements.
Coach and develop operators to establish reliable operating practices and ownership of performance.
Lead data-driven root-cause analyses and corrective actions to minimize downtime.
Support quality assurance to ensure products meet specifications and standards.
