Job summary

Lead Conversion Specialist

The Lead Conversion Specialist is responsible for managing an assigned portfolio of prospective and current customers and converting qualified prospects into enrollment opportunities. The Specialist independently develops and executes inside and digital sales strategies through phone, email, social selling, digital campaigns, and other communication channels. The role uses customer, pipeline, and conversion data to prioritize opportunities, determine outreach strategies, address objections, strengthen customer relationships, and improve enrollment results. The Specialist works closely with Outreach and Marketing partners while retaining ownership of assigned prospects and accounts through the conversion process and escalating complex or strategic opportunities when appropriate. This role may require occasional travel for conferences, trade shows, or strategic outreach initiatives.

What you’ll do in this position
  • Portfolio Sales, Lead Conversion, and Customer Relationship Management Manage an assigned portfolio of prospects, qualified leads, and customer accounts; qualify opportunities and guide them through conversion and enrollment.
  • Execute inbound and outbound sales activities, build customer relationships, communicate the value of Continuing Education offerings, and address objections.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, implement lead‑nurturing strategies, coordinate with Outreach Managers, and represent the department at assigned events.
  • Pipeline Strategy, CRM, and Data Analysis Analyze conversion data, engagement rates, sales activity, pipeline health, and customer metrics to refine outreach strategies.
  • Use CRM and automation data to prioritize prospects, accounts, customer segments, and outreach resources.
  • Provide leadership with actionable insights on customer behavior, pipeline trends, and conversion opportunities.
  • Sales Campaign Development and Cross-Functional Initiatives Plan and execute targeted sales and conversion campaigns for assigned opportunities and customer segments.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Outreach teams to improve lead sources, messaging, targeting, digital outreach, and engagement.
  • Monitor campaign performance, recommend improvements, and support conferences, trade shows, and other department initiatives.
  • Professional Development Maintain current knowledge of lead conversion, consultative sales, digital outreach, social selling, marketing automation, SEO, and customer engagement.
  • Stay informed about Continuing Education offerings, participate in ongoing training, and gather customer feedback to improve outreach and enrollment.
  • Perform other related responsibilities as assigned, consistent with the purpose and scope of the position.
What qualifies you for this role

Required

  • A firm commitment to the mission of BYU
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or related field
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in lead generation, professional sales, marketing, or lead conversion roles.
  • Professional experience with marketing automation systems.
  • Knowledge of SEO strategies (on-page and off‑page).
  • Social selling experience across LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, or similar platforms.
  • Proven track record of exceeding conversion or sales targets
  • Knowledge and understanding of education technology or related fields.
  • Knowledge and experience with LMS systems.
  • Experience as an administrator, teacher or counselor in secondary education.
  • Proven track record of account management in EdTech or related field.

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in business, education, or similar degree
  • Five (5) years of professional sales or lead conversion experience.
  • Experience in high‑volume sales environments.
  • Experience in education, SaaS, or service‑based industries.
  • Experience and familiarity with BYU Continuing Education.
  • Understanding of instructional design methodology and pedagogy.
  • Experience developing customer segmentation and targeting strategies.

  • Pay grade: 52 Typical Starting Pay: $65,500-$84,500 The actual compensation offered will take into consideration internal equity and may vary based on the candidate’s job‑related experience, knowledge, skills, and other relevant factors. Candidates with very significant work‑related experience may receive an offer higher than the posted typical range.
