FORTNA is seeking a Lead Controls Program Engineer to provide controls engineering expertise in the pre‑award phase of complex engineering projects. The role focuses on standardization, modularization, and alignment with FedEx technical and operational needs.
You will coordinate with engineering, sales, and FedEx teams to ensure scope, schedules, and budgets meet expectations, and prepare risk assessments and training materials for project handover.

The LCPE provides controls engineering expertise during the pre‑award phase of complex engineering projects, focusing on standardization, modularization, and alignment with FedEx’s technical and operational needs. They ensure scope, schedules, and budgets meet organizational standards and FedEx’s expectations. Acting as the primary technical liaison, the LCPE facilitates communication between engineering, sales, and FedEx teams to support project execution. During project handover, the LCPE prepares risk assessments, identifies opportunities, and shares lessons learned to guide execution. They create FedEx specification packages, conduct periodic audits, and provide recommendations to maintain project success. Additionally, they lead multi‑discipline Project Design Reviews and collaborate with the Training team to develop and deliver FedEx specific technical training materials.
Engineering Bachelor’s degree (or similar engineering program) from an accredited college with 10+ years of relevant experience, or 12+ years of relevant engineering experience. 5+ years of experience in technical project leadership, with a track record of managing complex projects.
The base salary range for this role is $115,900 to $173,800. This range represents the low and high end of the base salary for this position. Actual base salary offered will vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, level, job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, and performance.
