Job summary

Tecknomic seeks a Controls Engineer to own electrical design for hydraulic power stamping presses and related automation upgrades. You will lead HMI, PLC, and Safety PLC design, develop hardwire panel layouts, perform risk assessments, and supervise field teams during press upgrade installations.

The role involves coordinating installation and commissioning, with 25% travel internationally (Canada and Mexico) and 100% onsite at Georgetown, KY.

Qualifications

BS in Electrical Engineering / technology or equivalent work experience.
Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens, Mitsubishi; Yaskawa/Toyopuc a plus).
Experience with Safety PLC design and HMI design.

Responsibilities

Perform electrical design of mechanical/hydraulic power stamping presses and automation upgrades.
HMI design: create, modify, verify HMI programs during customer buyoffs.
PLC design: create, modify, verify PLC programs on multiple platforms and hardware.
Safety PLC design: develop Safety PLC programs.
Create/modify hardwire, panel, and field device layouts using IAB and AutoCAD Electrical.
Perform risk assessments on bid, procurement, and installation timing.
Supervise engineers, electricians, and millwrights during press upgrade installations.
Provide full line commissioning support (PLC, electrical, mechanical) before/during/after installation.
