Job summary

Jedson Engineering in Pooler, GA seeks an experienced Controls & Instrumentation Lead to guide and manage project scopes for industrial clients. You will develop the scope of work, specify instrumentation, create datasheets, and lead vendor quotes for instrumentation and valves across varying applications.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in project engineering, EPC exposure, and strong skills in Honeywell Experion DCS, IT/automation, and mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Associate degree (A.A.) from a two-year college or technical school required; BS in Engineering preferred.
• 10+ years of related experience in project engineering, including EPC or engineering firm experience.
• Highest proficiency of programming in Honeywell Experion DCS and hardware selection.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build and foster positive client relationships.
• Able to mentor junior automation specialists in systems, practices and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Develop and document the scope of work.
• Size and specify instrumentation including pressure and temperature transmitters, flow meters, modulating control valves, regulators, on/off valves, and actuators.
• Create datasheets and work with vendors to get quotes for instrumentation and valves for various applications.
• Coordinate with process engineering team to select the appropriate devices.
• Create schematics, termination drawings, or loop sheets for instrument wiring.
• Design custom control panels to meet the project need.
• Understand project success criteria and ensure client expectations are met.
• Develop and track project costs.
• Identify, document, and communicate changes to scope.
• Identify and effectively respond to clients issues and needs.
• Ensure value is provided to the client and develop & earn their trust.
• Review and manage all project deliverables.
• Coordinate and supervise project implementation, control project costs, monitor progress and quality of the project

What You’ll Be Doing

We’re looking for an experienced Controls & Instrumentation Lead to help lead and manage a project scope. This role will work directly with the clients to understand the project needs, and help manage and direct the execution of the engineering deliverables.

• Highest proficiency of programming in Honeywell Experion DCS and hardware selection
• A minimum requirement of Associate’s degree (A.A.) from a two-year college or technical school
• B.S. degree in Engineering is preferred
• 10+ years of related experience in project engineering, including EPC or engineering firm experience
• Familiar with industrial automation and IT structure and configuration including server configuration, networking, Historian
• Oversees project execution to ensure completion and client satisfaction
• Demonstrated experience in driving projects within budget from initiation through a successful and timely conclusion
• Knowledge of front-end engineering and detailed engineering process
• Strong interpersonal skills to build and foster positive client relationships
• Able to mentor junior automation specialists in systems, practices and procedures
