Job summary

TruNorth Automation is seeking a self-driven controls engineer to lead the electrical controls design, programming, and debugging of high-end custom automation equipment. You will be a key contributor within technical project teams and our growing controls engineering group.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer engineering with 7+ years of controls engineering experience in custom automation. Travel about 10% and US work authorization are required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer engineering.
Extensive controls engineering experience in custom automation.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience with electrical control system design, power distribution, PLC configuration, and machine safety.
Proficiency with Allen-Bradley PLCs and HMIs; other platforms a plus.
Excellent troubleshooting skills.
Robot programming experience (Epson, Adept, Fanuc).
Vision programming experience (Cognex VisionPro & In-Sight, Keyence).
Experience with MES and SCADA systems.
Experience creating electrical and pneumatic schematics.
Proficient with MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
Willingness to travel (~10%).
US citizen or work authorization.
