Under general supervision of the Manager of Process Automation, performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled maintenance, modification, and repair activities in assigned maintenance operations areas which may include material handling, electrical and Building Automation in any of the distribution centers; and performs related work as required.

Building Automation Systems Lead Technician is an experienced-level technician and is capable of performing a wide variety of work to ensure that the facilities and equipment are maintained in a safe and effective working condition. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing work in all operational and Facilities areas, depending upon the immediate needs of the department.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with IT groups in solving Warehouse Management Systems and Engineering groups to develop and implement computerized Material Handling systems.
  • Build and repair computer systems both hardware and software.
  • Perform program changes using PC’s and Server class PC’s, monitoring of PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) and PMS (Process Management Systems). Fix repairs of all Controls, Process Controllers, Control Cabinets, Power Supplies and all other field devices.
  • Perform program changes, monitoring of Building Automation Systems (HVAC, Lighting and Security systems).
  • Performs skilled and semi-skilled maintenance activities including performing material handling equipment evaluations and repair; office furniture moves and setups.
  • Maintains building, equipment, shop and storage areas in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Completes work orders for work performed and includes parts and inventory used.
  • Document all work order activities to align with MP2 requirements, providing documented records of the activities performed.
  • · Follow lockout-tag out procedures, confined space procedures, and other safety and environmental procedures and policies as required.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 3 year(s) industrial maintenance experience with PLC's (Allen-Bradley), conveyors, controls, and Operating Systems or equivalent
  • Must be able to lift 70 pounds.
  • Electrical experience with high and low voltage, AC and DC.
  • Consistent track record of strong mechanical and electrical knowledge.
  • Knowledge of Automatic Identification systems (Laser and Optical Scanning Devices).
  • Experience in updating and crafting electrical schematics and overview drawings using AutoCAD & AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Experience in programming and monitoring Programmable Logic Controllers (Allen/Bradley Controllers PLC 5, SLC500, MicroLogix, CCW, Control Logix).
  • Must be flexible with work assignment and schedules. When needed individual could be assigned to any of our Central Ohio operations to perform the same or similar work. Shift schedules start/end times and days of the week may also be adjusted based on business requirements.
  • Must pass training and receive Power Equipment and Manlift License.
  • Work as a teammate within the department and across the business.
  • Support overtime work as needed.

Education

  • Possession of an Associate's Degree; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as listed above.
