Job summary

Sigma Design is seeking a Control Systems Engineer III to lead design and execution of moderately complex control systems. You will define requirements, interface with clients, and mentor junior engineers, delivering robust, compliant solutions.

Ideal candidates bring 7+ years in mechatronic system integration, strong PLC/HMI/vision/robotics capabilities, and CAD proficiency. This in-office role offers comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities within Sigma Design.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
7+ years' experience integrating complex mechatronic systems.
Proficient in PLCs, safety PLCs, motion controllers, and HMIs.
Experienced with vision systems, robotics, and integration with equipment.
CAD proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and EPlan.
Knowledge of UL508A, NFPA 79, UL61010 regs.
Strong cross-functional collaboration and client-facing skills.
Excellent written and verbal English communication.
Post-offer background verification.
Travel as required.

Responsibilities

Architect, design/develop and implement custom controls and vision systems solutions.
Program, network, commission, analyze, diagnose, and debug control systems with PLCs, motion controllers, HMIs, robots, sensors.
Specify control components and support BOM creation.
Design control systems to UL508A, UL61010, and NFPA 79 standards.
Support electrical wiring diagrams and enclosure builds.
Assist in writing system specs and operations manuals.
Test/Validation, FAT, SAT, and onsite training.
Follow policies to protect data and reduce security incidents.
