Job summary

Sigma Design is seeking a Control Systems Engineer III to lead design and execution of moderately complex control systems. You will define requirements, interface with clients, and guide junior engineers on projects.

Role requires 7+ years of experience, PLC/vision system programming, CAD proficiency, and strong communication. In-office role with travel as needed, competitive compensation, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 7+ years experience integrating complex mechanical-electrical systems.
• Programming PLCs, safety PLCs, motion controllers, HMIs.
• Vision systems, robotics, and related hardware integration.
• Strong CAD skills and familiarity with electrical enclosure design.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design and implement custom controls and vision systems.
• Program, network, commission, analyze, diagnose and debug control systems.
• Specify components and support BOM creation.
• Design systems to UL508A, UL61010 and NFPA 79 standards.
• Assist with electrical wiring diagrams and enclosure builds.
• Test/Validation, FAT/SAT and onsite training.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high quality solutions.
