Dorsett Controls in Vinton, VA is seeking a Senior Control Panel Builder to lead the assembly, wiring, and testing of UL 508A panels. You will mentor junior technicians, ensure compliance with NFPA and NEC standards, and partner with engineering to improve designs.

The role requires UL 508A certification, 5+ years of panel-building experience, and a valid driver’s license. On-site work with opportunities to contribute to process improvements and audits.

Qualifications

• UL 508A certification (or equivalent) required.
• Strong ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• 5+ years building/wiring industrial control panels.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Familiarity with NFPA 79 and NEC/NFPA 70 in panel work.

Responsibilities

• Build, wire, and test industrial control panels per UL 508A, NFPA, and company standards.
• Perform point-to-point wiring, labeling, and verification of components.
• Mentor and review work of junior Control Panel Technicians.
• Prepare panels for shipment and maintain documentation for audits.
• Support continuous improvement and safety initiatives in the panel shop.
