Job summary

J. Benton Construction, LLC is seeking an on-site Superintendent to lead day-to-day field operations on assigned projects in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

You will oversee safety, quality, schedule, and subcontractor performance, coordinating with Project Managers to deliver safe, efficient outcomes that meet contract requirements. The role requires strong field leadership, the ability to read drawings and specs, and experience with CPM scheduling.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret drawings/specs and coordinate sequencing
• Proficiency with construction tech and field reporting tools (e.g., Procore)
• OSHA 30 certification and commitment to safety on site
• Willingness to work extended hours/weekends as required

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all on-site construction activities, including subcontractors and field staff
• Administer the project safety program and conduct site safety planning
• Develop and maintain the project schedule and look-ahead plans (minimum 3 weeks)
• Coordinate trades and sequencing to meet milestones
• Lead daily huddles and weekly coordination meetings
• Ensure subcontractor readiness and compliance before mobilization
• Interpret plans and resolve field issues with the team
• Execute quality control through plans, inspections, and punch lists
• Support cost controls and progress tracking with PM
• Document field changes and turnover documentation
