Job summary

Oakland Housing Authority is seeking a Construction Project Superintendent in Oakland, CA to coordinate and supervise renovation and reconstruction work on housing units and facilities. The role requires managing schedules, budgets, and compliance with City codes and Authority policies.

Qualifications

High school diploma with vocational, technical school training in a construction-related field.
Five years of full-time exposure to all phases of construction processes.
Possession of a valid California driver's license and an insurable driving record.
Bilingual skills in Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, and/or Spanish are a plus.

Responsibilities

Coordinate among consultants, contractors, and the Housing Authority through renovation and reconstruction projects.
Prepare detailed specifications and estimates.
Research and select materials; direct and supervise workers in repair and maintenance.
Develop project specifications and budgets.
Coordinate work sessions with contractors, vendors, and other parties to develop schedules.
Participate in bid preparation, bid evaluations, and related processes.
Inspect projects in progress and at completion for conformance and acceptance.
Prepare correspondence and reports on assigned projects.
Review plans and calculations for compliance with codes and Housing Authority policy.
Supervise construction inspectors as assigned.
