Job summary

Certerra-RMA Group in Nashville, TN is seeking an experienced Construction Materials Technician to perform field and laboratory testing of soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel, coordinating with project teams to ensure compliance and reporting to the Certerra Project Manager.

You will collect samples, operate and maintain equipment, and prepare clear written and digital reports for daily submission.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience or the equivalent in training and related experience.
• Experience with laptop computer use and Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing, observation, and inspection as directed, following training and specified procedures.
• Provide clear, complete documentation of findings and results.
• Conduct basic data analysis to verify accuracy before communicating results to the Project Manager.
• Communicate project updates and findings to the Project Manager and other personnel as directed.
• Demonstrate proficiency in multiple areas of field or laboratory testing and inspection.
• Train lower-level technicians as needed.
• Lead the activities of other engineering technicians in the laboratory or on large-scale field projects.
• Maintain and calibrate assigned equipment.
• Operate company vehicles.
• Follow all safety rules, practices, and project-specific safety requirements; perform pre-task planning prior to work.
• Report any safety concerns promptly to management.
• Maintain quality standards across all assigned projects
