Job summary

UES seeks an experienced Construction Materials Testing Technician/Inspector III to advance field testing on complex projects. You’ll collaborate with engineers and project teams, apply ACI/ICC expertise, and mentor junior technicians in a dynamic, travel-heavy environment.

You will work in outdoor field settings, travel up to 70%, and use your certifications to ensure material and construction conformance while advancing your career and credentials in geotechnical engineering and construction

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; welding certificate or related vocational training.
• 5+ years of progressive inspection or materials testing experience.
• Advanced industry certifications such as ACI, ICC, AWS CWI.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Expert knowledge interpreting complex blueprints, codes, and standards.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Lead construction materials testing and inspection activities on complex projects.
• Apply your ACI Concrete and ICC Soils expertise to help ensure materials and construction meet project requirements.
• Work directly with contractors, engineers, project managers, and field teams to resolve issues and keep projects moving.
• Perform specialized inspections in areas such as concrete, soils, masonry, structural steel, and welding based on your certifications and experience.
• Serve as a technical resource and mentor for developing field technicians and inspectors.
• Recognize potential quality or compliance concerns and help teams find practical solutions.
• Take ownership of multiple field assignments while working independently with limited supervision.
