Job summary

GEM Technologies, Inc. in Los Alamos, New Mexico seeks a Construction Manager to lead LANL construction projects on site.

You will provide strong on‑site leadership, coordinating with Project Management, Design Engineering, Procurement and Project Controls to ensure safety, training and compliance are integral to every task. The role requires extensive program and field leadership, knowledge of nuclear quality standards (NQA‑1), and the ability to manage budgets, schedules and staffing to

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and/or fifteen (15) years’ experience in two or more functions: project management, engineering, construction, project controls and procurement.
U.S. citizenship due to federal nature of work.
Ability to obtain and maintain government clearance if needed.
Experience with Department of Energy (DOE) nuclear projects and NQA-1 standards is highly desired.
Proven ability to manage scope, schedule, budget, reporting and change control.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage execution of LANL construction projects on site.
Coordinate with Project Management, Design Engineering, Procurement and Project Controls to set priorities and ensure safety and security training.
Provide on‑site leadership and guidance to Site Managers for project success.
Review estimates, budgets, forecasts, and schedules for acceptability.
Ensure compliance with government standards and internal procedures throughout all construction activities.
Identify and address risks, staffing, material delivery, and subcontract management issues.
