Job summary

SailFuture Academy in St. Petersburg is seeking a Construction Supervisor to lead a crew of 5, manage daily jobsite operations, and own quality, safety and schedule. The role grows into overall project ownership with budgeting responsibilities and mentorship of youth in trades.

As the program expands, you’ll read plans, enforce safety, coordinate permits and inspections, and drive planning, estimating and on-time delivery while modeling a hands-on, educational work culture.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in construction with 2+ years leading a foreman or lead carpenter.
• Ability to read blueprints and perform material takeoffs.
• OSHA knowledge; OSHA 30 preferred.
• Valid Florida driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in Florida heat.
• Pass Florida Level 2 background screening.

Responsibilities

• Lead, schedule and work alongside a crew of 5
• Read plans and specs and flag conflicts before they cost us money
• Run daily jobsite operations: materials, tools, equipment and subcontractors
• Enforce jobsite safety and hold a daily toolbox talk
• Track labor hours, materials and progress against budget
• Coordinate permits, inspections and vendors
• Keep daily logs, punch lists and project photos
• Train and coach crew members and set the standard for quality
• Take on more planning, estimating and project ownership as the role moves to Supervisor
