Job summary

PremiStar is seeking a Senior Construction Estimator to lead cost estimation for commercial and industrial projects. You will analyze drawings, specs, and bids, conduct quantity take-offs, and develop competitive estimates to align with scope and schedule.

The role requires 5+ years in construction estimating and proficiency with BIM, CAD, PlanSwift, Bluebeam, and Excel. You will mentor junior staff and support bid strategy through the bidding process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in construction field.
• 5+ years of construction estimating experience.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specs.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with estimating software (BIM, CAD, PlanSwift, Bluebeam, etc.).
• Advanced Excel and cost analysis skills.
• Experience with design-build or alternative delivery methods.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial or industrial construction projects.
• Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and scope documents.
• Perform quantity take-offs and pricing analysis.
• Solicit, review, and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids.
• Identify risks, opportunities, and value-engineering options.
• Lead bid reviews and support bid strategy decisions.
• Collaborate with project management during handoff and budgeting.
• Input labor, material, and equipment costs into estimating software.
• Assist with proposal preparation and bid submissions.
