Gummi World is seeking a Product Development Scientist to own the innovation pipeline from concept through commercialization for dietary supplements and confectionery nutraceuticals at our Chandler, AZ facility. You will lead development of gummies, marshmallows, and other formats, while ensuring safety, scale, and manufacturability, working closely with R&D, Regulatory, Quality, and Business Development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Biology, Engineering, Chemistry, or related field.
• 5+ years in R&D, Product Development, Manufacturing, and/or Quality Assurance within the food and/or supplement industry.
• Hands-on confectionery formulation experience—starch and starchless gummies; marshmallows and other confectionery formats preferred.
• Demonstrated experience leading or building a product development function and mentoring teams.
• Strong customer-facing skills and ability to translate client needs into technical solutions.
• High emotional intelligence with excellent interpersonal skills; ability to build trust with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Strong analytical, written, and organizational skills for managing complex technical information and multiple projects.
• Industry-leading understanding of ingredient functionality, product evaluation, health and nutrition, and quality assurance principles.

Responsabilités

• Own end-to-end product innovation from concept to commercialization.
• Lead formulation and development of gummies, marshmallows, and confectionery formats, with capsules/powders a plus.
• Be hands-on in lab and production floor; run trials and troubleshoot batches.
• Serve as technical and strategic contact for clients and translate needs into development plans.
• Lead tastings and sensory evaluations and document results for formulation decisions.
• Collaborate with Regulatory on formulations and claim substantiation.
• Maintain and expand the branded ingredient and raw material database.
• Partner with Quality on specs, change controls, and label forms.
• Evaluate secondary contract manufacturers to scale formulations.
• Build relationships with suppliers and purchasing for trends.
• Mentor junior R&D and product development team members.
• Drive timely resolutions and client-facing support at all stages.
• Represent innovation capabilities in client meetings and partnerships.
• Contribute to platform growth through brainstorming and troubleshooting.
