Job summary

Austin Bridge & Road is seeking an experienced Concrete Paving Foreman or Superintendent to lead heavy civil paving projects in North Texas. You will manage day-to-day field operations, ensure quality and safety, coordinate subcontractors, and maintain relationships with project stakeholders.

The role requires 5+ years in heavy civil construction, proven leadership of paving crews, and proficiency with construction management software (HCSS HeavyJob) and daily reporting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in heavy civil construction with a focus on concrete paving (DOT, municipal, or large-scale infrastructure projects).
• Proven leadership in managing paving crews and subcontractors on complex roadway or infrastructure projects.
• Proficient in construction management software (e.g., HCSS Heavy Job) and daily reporting tools.
• Strong commitment to jobsite safety and quality control.
• Willingness to work night shifts and extended hours as required by project demands.
• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day field operations for concrete paving projects, ensuring adherence to project plans, schedules, and safety standards.
• Implement and enforce jobsite safety protocols, conduct hazard assessments, and coordinate with safety personnel and inspectors.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager to plan site logistics, including paving sequences, equipment staging, and traffic control.
• Develop and manage daily and weekly paving schedules, ensuring efficient use of crews, equipment, and materials.
• Monitor concrete placement, finishing, curing, and jointing to ensure compliance with specifications and high-quality standards.
• Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery and execution of work.
• Provide technical guidance to resolve field issues and optimize paving methods and productivity.
• Track labor, equipment, and material costs, and assist in schedule and budget adjustments as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable construction laws, codes, and company policies.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, inspectors, engineers, and vendors.
• Support team development through training, mentorship, and performance feedback.
• Oversee project closeout activities, including punch lists, final inspections, and documentation.
