Job summary

W3Global seeks an experienced Paving Operations Manager to oversee concrete construction operations from planning through completion. You will manage paving crews and batch plant activities across multiple North Texas projects, leading superintendents, foremen, and field crews to deliver high-quality flatwork and structures.

The role requires hands-on experience with slipform paving and a strong command of safety, cost control, and project coordination.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in concrete construction operations with hands-on paving experience.
• 5+ years supervising or managing field operations teams.
• Strong knowledge of slipform paving, stringline setup, finishing, joints, and dowels.
• Experience with structural concrete and flatwork, formwork, bridge decks, walls, and finishing.
• Knowledge of batch plant operations, mix designs, plant production, quality control, and testing.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and crews simultaneously.
• Ability to analyze production and cost data and take corrective actions.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high-quality standards for placement, finishing, curing, joints, and dowel work.
• Coordinate equipment usage and maintenance to minimize downtime.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Paving Operations Manager to oversee concrete construction operations from planning through completion. This role will manage paving crews, structures and flatwork, slipform paving operations, and concrete batch plant activities across multiple active heavy civil projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands‑on experience in concrete paving and field operations, with the leadership skills to manage superintendents, foremen, crews, equipment, production, quality, safety, and costs.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily concrete operations across multiple active projects, including crew planning, equipment allocation, scheduling, and concrete placements.
• Lead and develop superintendents, foremen, leadmen, and field crews.
• Oversee concrete batch plant operations, including staffing, mix designs and submittals, aggregate and cement supply, quality control and testing, maintenance, calibration, safety, and environmental compliance.
• Manage the full concrete scope, including mainline and intersection paving, bridge decks, walls, structures, and flatwork.
• Plan and sequence large concrete placements in coordination with Project Managers and Superintendents.
• Coordinate paving activities with subgrade preparation, underground utilities, traffic control, and other site operations.
• Drive production and monitor daily cost-code performance against project estimates.
• Identify production constraints and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency.
• Maintain high-quality standards for concrete placement, finishing, curing, smoothness, joints, and dowel work while minimizing rework.
• Coordinate the use and availability of slipform pavers, placer/trimmers, bridge deck equipment, and supporting equipment.
• Work with maintenance/shop personnel to minimize equipment downtime.
• Promote and enforce safety programs, OSHA compliance, JHAs, and safe work practices.
• Monitor labor, equipment hours, unit costs, and concrete cost per yard.
• Support cost-control and operational improvement initiatives.
• Mentor and develop superintendents and foremen while building a strong field leadership team.
• Manage multiple projects, crews, and priorities simultaneously while maintaining production schedules and quality standards.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in concrete construction operations, including hands‑on concrete paving experience.
• 5+ years of experience supervising or managing construction field operations, including superintendents, foremen, and field crews.
• Strong working knowledge of slipform paving, including stringline setup, placer/trimmer operation, finishing, curing, joints, and dowels.
• Experience with structural concrete and flatwork, including formwork, bridge decks, walls, and finishing.
• Knowledge of concrete batch plant operations, including mix designs, plant production, quality control, and testing.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and crews simultaneously.
• Ability to analyze production and cost data and take appropriate corrective action.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Preferred Experience

• 3+ years of structural concrete or bridge construction experience.
• 5+ years of concrete batch plant operations experience.
• 5+ years of municipal or DOT construction experience.

Schedule

• Monday through Friday, full-time.
• Daily presence on active North Texas jobsites.
• Early starts and occasional night or weekend work may be required based on project needs.
