Job summary

Rack & Ballauer Excavating Co., Inc. in Hamilton, OH is seeking a full-time Concrete Foreman to lead a crew on concrete projects. This union role offers strong benefits and a company truck, with a schedule Monday–Friday and no weekends.

The right candidate will have at least 10 years’ crew supervision experience, a valid driver’s license, and knowledge of DOT specs for ODOT. Readiness to coordinate with a project manager and oversee daily field operations is essential.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License required.
• At least 10 years’ experience running a crew preferred.
• Knowledge of DOT specs for ODOT at minimum.
• Ability to read plans and forecast needs that can be relayed to a project manager.
• Skills for tearing out old concrete and pavement and prep ground for new concrete from start to finish.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside your crew including placing traffic equipment, forming, shoveling, placing/finishing concrete, etc.
• Perform minor storm sewer repair work and rebuilding catch basins.
• Perform adjustments of castings in the road, asphalt driveway and patching behind concrete work.
• Work on yard restoration after concrete work has poured including raking.
• Assist in restoring the worksite once concrete is poured.
• Prepare for a paving crew to take over from the concrete crew to repave a road.
• Order materials from suppliers.
• Communicate with crew members of any changes that will be happening on their crew coming up for the following day’s work including cancelling work with weather events.
