Job summary

The City of Colorado Springs is seeking a Senior Equipment Operator in the Concrete division to finish and place concrete, set forms, and ensure grade and ADA compliance. You will perform site preparation, operate heavy equipment, and support snow removal, maintenance, and earthwork as part of a multi-tasking public works team.

This role requires knowledge of traffic control, safety practices, and the ability to lead staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Five years of full-time, professional related experience
• Valid Colorado driver's license (unrestricted)
• Colorado Class B CDL on hire
• Colorado Class A CDL within 12 months of hire

Responsibilities

• Construct and place concrete forms with proper grade and ADA compliance
• Install expansion materials, reinforcement bars, and dowels
• Assemble and set formwork to align with pitch and depth
• Place, screen, and level concrete with grade control
• Finish concrete surfaces with floats and trowels
• Site preparation for concrete work and earthwork
• Operate dump trucks during snow removal and other equipment
• Use, maintain, and repair equipment and tools
• Perform manual labor and cleanup
• Schedule and coordinate work of assigned staff
• Other duties as assigned
