Job summary

DFAS seeks an experienced COMSEC specialist to act as the lead technical expert and advisor on COMSEC management across agency sites. You will guide staff, analyze systems, and ensure secure handling of COMSEC material and equipment.

You will install and maintain COMSEC devices, including cryptographic systems, and develop operations to protect and restore critical services in line with defense requirements.

Qualifications

• Basic competency items used in federal applicant screening.
• Ability to evaluate information and provide support to clients.
• Strong communication and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical expert and advisor in COMSEC management; provide staff guidance on COMSEC matters.
• Analyze, manage, or perform work to plan, design, develop, acquire, document, test, implement, integrate, maintain, or modify systems to resolve problems or accomplish work processes.
• Serve as the point of contact for maintenance and management of all COMSEC material and equipment and communication of related security matters.
• Specialist installs, operates, and maintains COMSEC equipment including voice, data, and message processing devices and cryptographic systems.
• Develops, implements, and coordinates COMSEC operations among DFAS sites to protect and restore systems, services, and capabilities.
