Job summary

Emerald Coast Utilities Authority is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to support the bio-solids compost program in Florida. You will operate equipment to load, move, and process yard waste through shredding, composting, mixing, turning, and curing stages, and assist with general tasks as needed.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, two years of heavy equipment experience, and a Class B CDL. Candidates may be subject to background checks, drug screening, and post-employment physicals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Two years of experience operating heavy duty equipment and vehicles.
• Possession of a Class B Commercial Driver's license upon offer.
• Background checks, drug screening, and post-offer physicals may be required.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment to load, unload, move, and transport yard waste through composting stages.
• Perform daily inspections and routine maintenance on assigned equipment.
• Assist with plant operations and act as lead or crew as assigned.
• Work overtime during emergencies as required.
