Job summary

The AES Corporation in Houston is seeking a Complex Settlements Senior Analyst to lead invoicing and settlement activities for key accounts within AES Clean Energy. You will allocate charges, ensure data accuracy, and drive automation projects to scale processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, MIS or related field.
• 3+ years of complex power settlements/accounting experience.
• Understanding of RTO/ISO charge types, calculations, rules and data flows.
• Experience with Energy trading, settlements, scheduling, operations and back office.
• Familiarity with Adapt2/Allegro ETRM systems is a plus.
• Understanding of end-to-end energy market/process and close deadlines.
• Ability to read and translate complex contracts into settlements processes.
• 3+ years of energy industry experience preferred.
• Advanced Excel and Power Query skills.

Responsibilities

• Invoicing of key accounts with accuracy and timeliness.
• Settlement parameter/condition accuracy throughout the process.
• Primary interface between origination, settlements, and commercial groups.
• Track incoming assets and power agreements; prepare setup for settlement.
• Ensure data accuracy and completeness for assigned accounts.
• Ensure timely accounting and settlements; support audits.
• Test and implement market protocol/tariff changes in processes and systems.
• Integrate new agreements into existing processes.
• Automate/improve processes for scalability and efficiency.
• Maintain documentation and meet control/compliance requirements.
• Build relationships with internal and external partners.
