Job summary

CHAOS Industries is seeking a Communications Systems & Spectrum Compliance Lead based in El Segundo, CA, to own the performance and regulatory readiness of CHAOS data links—from RF dishes to Starlink terminals. You will ensure all paths are functional and legally authorized for domestic and international demonstrations or deliveries.

You will evaluate new communications tech, coordinate with legal/export control, and support deployments with a focus on resilience and spectrum compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years in RF/wireless communications systems engineering or spectrum management/regulatory affairs.
• Hands-on with MPU5/SRW, Starlink and point-to-point links.
• Familiarity with ITU Radio Regulations and export controls (ITAR/EAR).
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally; security clearance eligible.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical performance of CHAOS communications systems and networks; ensure platforms connect and function.
• Design, test, validate link budgets, network architecture, and failover paths for each deployment.
• Conduct pre-deployment validation to ensure links are functional and authorized before travel.
• Troubleshoot connectivity in field and remote with team collaboration for uptime.
• Evaluate emerging technologies (SATCOM, 5G, mesh) for resilience and applicability.
